At Petrol, we are leveraging public-private partnerships and the energy contracting model to invest in the comprehensive renovation of public lighting systems across cities in the region. We have provided the efficiency, suitability and safety of public lighting across many cities in the region, including Koper, Bled and Kraljevica, Croatia.
By leveraging a public-private partnership, we successfully renovated the public lighting in Izola, decreasing the high municipal energy and maintenance costs. The renovation took six months to complete. In this time, we replaced 1,700 of 2,200 lamps, accounting for 65 % annual energy savings, which translates to an annual carbon footprint reduction of 300 tonnes.
We are replacing outdated, energy wasteful lamps with modern LED lamps, which only emit project light where needed. The color spectrum produced by such lamps is closer to the natural one, while energy savings range from 60 to 80 percent.
This comprehensive approach is increasing the quality of maintenance, general and traffic safety and the life-span of public lighting systems, while at the same time reducing the energy, maintenance and management costs and, most importantly, limiting light pollution.
We control the public lighting network with the Tango information system. Tango enables centralized control, management and optimization of public lighting systems. The information solution enables us to quickly and efficiently take measures that ensure maximum savings and optimize the maintenance process, additionally lowering the operating costs of the system.
Modern lamps improve not only the external, but also the internal lighting of sports, business, public, industrial and residential buildings.
