Hawksbill mountain lies along the east rim of Linville Gorge (known as the Grand Canyon of the East) in North Carolina. The summit provides wonderful 360 degree views of the surrounding Appalachian mountains, including the Black Mountains that can be seen to the southwest! We completed this hike in late October during the peak of the fall color season and were convinced this might be the most scenic viewpoint in the state of North Carolina!

Our advice:
The trail is accessed from Table Rock Road and gains about 650 feet over the mile and some change to the summit. The views at the top are well worth the climb!
