Mahari talks about punishment and revenge in BPD for those with BPD and their loved ones. Mahari, who recovered from BPD herself, in 1990, shares, in her ebook, her own mastering of her previously unmastered talionic impulse when she had BPD. A.J. Mahari knows, from first-hand experience that there is something far more important, something much more precious then the fight to feel or be right and BPD recovery is so possible and yet tragically so many with BPD never go through the necessary process to find and realize that recovery. The punishment and revenge of the un-mastered Talionic Impulse is present in all with BPD and can be manifested differently, whether a person with BPD is a quiet borderline or an acting out raging borderline, a high or low-functioning borderline - outside of interpersonal relationships and usually applied to career success or lack thereof.
Too many people with Borderline Personality Disorder are seeking to get justice or revenge in the-here-and-now with loved ones or people close to them. Borderlines are really trying to get revenge for or justice for past woundedness that was not caused by the loved ones that it may be directed at and often in abusive ways.
