The old gods of the semitic religions have always fascinated me with their brutality and disturbing practices. It seemed like all of ancient Israel's neighbors left a lot to be desired. From human sacrifice to much more sensual duties of the priestesses, the surrounding blasphemous lands have a lot to learn from. Asherah, wife of El and goddess of fertility and holy spaces, but also potentially the wife of Yahweh himself and exploiter of all that makes love pure. This is somewhat of a departure from the average Tony4you video as it doesn't have anything to do with video games, but I hope the lore, history, and ancient knowledge gathered in this video will be entertaining all the same. Biblical stories have always been fascinating and the old testament depictions of angels and demons are one subject I will never tire of researching. From the most horrible of demons worshipped as gods to the temptation and downfall of even the most mighty and holy of men. Bible stories explained through the knowledge we can put together throughout history might change your life. Ancient Israel and ancient Canaan have a lot to learn from after all. Every culture has their take on angels, demons, spirits, and ghosts. From across the globe these spiritual entities cover every topic and domain you could possibly think of. Of all of the cultures one can study however, there is one that stands out as particularly brutal and horrific. The ancient Canaanites of around 200 BC had many stories told of them throughout historical and religious texts. They range greatly in their topic, but what all records of these people tell of is the unmatched horror of their gods and religion. From carnal depravity to child sacrifice the gods and people of the region were a waking nightmare for all to see.
