529 dengue cases were reported in the week ending May 16, as Singapore enters its traditional peak dengue season. That's a jump from the first four months of the year, which saw about 300 to 400 weekly cases. Medical entomologist Christina Liew from the National Environment Agency and Nanyang Technological University explained the reason behind the spike in dengue cases.
