The Earl of Pembroke's stepfather was shot dead on the grounds of his Wilton House palace.
The Wiltshire estate of the Earls of Pembroke, Wilton House is a true British historical site, for its history dates back to the reign of King Henry VIII. 450 years ago, the monarch gave William Herbert, the first Earl of Pembroke, an almost completely ruined abbey, but through redevelopment the manor was transformed and even turned into a fine palace. In recent days, however, the manor's reputation has changed dramatically from "a place of paradise" to "a place of carnage."
On June 12, the body of the Earl of Pembroke's stepfather, Stuart Wyndham Murray Tripland, was found on the castle grounds. Experts ruled that the 76-year-old man's death was caused by a bullet wound to the head from a shotgun. Stuart Tripland died at the scene and was found near his car on the Wilton House grounds. The strangeness doesn't end there, however, because an hour before the man was killed, the historic castle was listed for sale for $31.7 million. Stuart Tripland's body was identified by his friend.
