LET’S VISIT LA TOUR ✨🌃
La Tour is a fairly new, Power Dining concept by Pontus Frithiof, who owns a number of restaurants around Stockholm. It is situated on the 23rd floor of a tall building in the city and you’ll be more than well taken care of here. The food is inspired by the French dining scene and the combinations are absolutely delicious. Below you’ll find all the dishes that are featured in this video as well as my personal rating of each one:
Gourmandises:
”STEAK FRITES”🥩
Tartar on Swedish reserve steak with Oscietra caviar.I’m not usually a tartar person but this was 5/5.
CONSOMMÉ DE HOMARD🦀
Consommé of french wild caught blue lobster with lobster mousse and brioche. A little more plain than the tartar and I honestly hoped for something more fun, but it was still pretty delicious and had a strong lobster flavor to it. 4/5.
Entrées:
MOUSSELINE DE ST JACQUES🐚
Scallop mousseline, Oscietra caviar, beurre blanc and chives. This was delicious but it was a bit too much of the same flavors towards the end. 4/5.
LE THON CRU🐟
Bluefin tuna tartare with Oscietra caviar, radish, endive and ginger. This one had a lot more variation to it and was very well-presented and tasted very good as well. 5/5.
Plats Principaux
TURBOT À L’ARMORICAINE🐡
Seared turbot with french wild caught lobster, browned butter and sweetheart cabbage. I really enjoyed my main dish, flavors were amazing, there was plenty of variation and it looked stunning. 5/5.
TOURNEDOS ROSSINI🥩
Swedish dry aged fillet of beef with seared foie gras and winter truffle. A very tasty version of a classic concept, but it get’s a slightly lower rating for being perfect but not very ‘’wow’’. 4,5/5
Desserts
PROFITEROLES ”LA TOUR”
Profiteroles with lavender cream, Manjari chocolate and pistachio ice cream – Absolutely delicious dessert with a very creamy pistachio ice cream. They couldv’e put in a little more effort décor-wise but everything else was there. 4.5/5.
SOUFFLÉ AUX FRAMBOISES
Raspberry souffle with raspberry compote, meadowsweet and vanilla cream. It’s not every day when you can order a soufflet on short notice, but this is one of those places. It was delicious but the center could’ve been a bit thicker in terms of texture.
Final words
Although this is one of the more expensive restaurants in Stockholm, it was also a delightful experience. It will be perfect for any special occasion and you’ll be walking out with a lot of good food memories.
