Simone Hagey was a finalist in the 2022 UBC Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition. Simone presented their research, "The Death Spiral of Hot Jupiters." Developing mathematical and computational tools to more efficiently study solar systems, in hopes to explore more mysteries in our galaxy. Simone Hagey is completing their Master’s in Astronomy in the Department of Physics & Astrology at @UBC under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Boley.

#3MT is an academic competition that assists current graduate students with fostering effective presentation and communication skills. Participants have just three minutes to explain the breadth and significance of their research project to a non-specialist audience.
