Diamond X510 VSWR, Siglent SSA3021X, R&S FSH3, NanoVNA & MiniVNA Pro
This was a quick and basic comparison of VSWR measurement of a Diamond X510 2M/70cm antenna on the 2M band.
Setup: Center frequency 145.5MHz, Span 10MHz
Calibrated with the same Short, Open and Load (50R) termination.
Equipment:
Rohde & Schwarz FSH3 Spectrum Analyzer (with tracking gen)
Siglent SSA3021X Spectrum Analyzer (with tracking gen)
MiniVNA Pro (output via android device (Bluetooth) or PC (USB))
NanoVNA.
VSWR
DEVICE 143.6MHz 145.5MHz 146.9 MHz
FSH3 1.18 1.761 1.042
SSA3021X 1.16 1.629 1.009
MiniVNA Pro 1.07 1.57 1.05
NanoVNA 1.1 1.5 1.1
Conclusion: If you want to do basic VSWR checks, get the NanoVNA (new £40), the miniVNA (£125 used) is a little fiddly to setup on the PC but works well via Bluetooth. The R&S (£800 used) and Siglent with bridge and software (new £1800) are over kill.
