My sister and her late husband bought this Lander Rover Series 2A 88 new in 1972. It was their daily driver and hauled horse trailers around Virginia for many years. The late 70s and early 80s were not any easy time to support an old Land Rover - dealer disappeared and parts were hard to come by. The vehicle deteriorated and gradually became a farm utility vehicle for towing a manure cart, operated primarily by young girls who boarded their horses at the farm. They learned to pull the choke out on cold days, but never learned to push it back in. I made regular trips 30 miles each way to perform "patch-up " maintenance.
