The pickups sound good. I'm loving the action and fretboard. After playing this guitar for over a month I am very happy with this purchase! The only cons I can think of (so far) are minor: I don't like where the input jack is located; recessed kind of deep in back. Oddly, this guitar has both a nut AND a zero-fret, which I think was a smart move to prevent the strings from "ticking" out (when you bend at a lower fret) of the string-grooves that develop on zero-frets over time. The strings make contact with both the nut and zero-fret. I definitely dig the neck shape, but that's a personal taste thing. The neck is thin (back to front) and a touch wide (top to bottom), which works well.....I have yet to slip an E string off the side, and I use light strings. I like the matte feel (of the neck and body), and the lack of gloss on the body means I never see smudges, which is cool and different. The neck, fingerboard and frets are very well-crafted and a pleasure to play. I managed to get the action nice and low without buzzes. When it arrived (48 hrs after ordering it on Amazon!) the action was high. I really love the feel of the 5-piece neck, but I can slightly feel where the pieces connect as my thumb slides up and down while playing. Maybe they could have sanded it better, but this is not a big deal at all. I'm merely pointing it out. Maybe you can always feel multi-piece necks a little. This is my first one. Overall, this Eart W2 is far better than what one would expect for the price.
