This safe has a 2-1/2" overall body constructed of 1" high tensile steel outer and 14 & 16 gauge inner plates and a 4-1/2" overall door insulated with U.L. approved material, outer door plate being 1-1/2" thick A36 high tensile steel. In other words, the security on this safe is no joke and even with all of that steel only a single business card can fit between the door and body. Just one Emperor 7248 tips the scales at 5,400 lbs, which to put in perspective is nearly as much as two Honda civic cars.
