This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. As a YouTuber and online creative, Ming Han makes a living out of connecting with people and giving voice to their thoughts. In this enthusiastic and entertaining talk, he discusses the importance of connection in creativity—and the very real issue of fake accents.
Ming is an online creative – a content writer, actor and director. Or maybe that’s just a more glorified definition of what you would call a “YouTuber”. What life is right now is an accidental result of what happened during his thesis year in Psychology. A laptop-shot video, a rant about parking and the rest is history. Today, Ming is a full time writer, director and actor – focusing mainly on online content and material. He’s set up his own company – CORE Studios – that caters to more than just YouTube shenanigans so his team and himself are able to work with many different clients locally and overseas. With an online creative platform, a band-in-the-making and a mind set on TV Series and movies beyond YouTube, Ming believes its interesting to see how fragile that rigid asian stereotype of defining “a steady job”, really is.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
