About Thomas Cleary
Thomas Cleary has translated many original Zen Buddhist texts from Chinese, Korean, and Japanese traditions, including famous collections and commentaries such as The Blue Cliff Record, No Barrier, Zen Lessons, The Buddhist I Ching, and Transmission of Light. A graduate of Harvard University and a former fellow of Kyoto University, Dr. Cleary has also translated many other important Buddhist texts from Chinese, Pali, and Sanskrit, including the Dhammapada, the Sandhinirmocana Sutra, and the Avatamsaka Sutra.
