Studying overseas can be lonely, especially in times like these. Over the multiple 2020 lockdowns, I thought that I had figured out how to enjoy spending time by myself. But being in isolation for extended periods while the coronavirus situation in Ireland degrades has made it much more trying recently. I'm focusing on valuing my independence and freedom, with the knowledge that this is only a temporary phase. I've been actively stopping myself (though it doesn't work most times) from feeling homesick because I know that being able to study here in Ireland is a privilege. When I look back in a few years' time, all I'm going to remember are the happy memories and the lessons I couldn't have learnt anywhere else. Here's to emerging from this experience stronger and braver and proud of myself for doing my best, always. And of course, to all my friends here, thank you for the shared trials and emotions. I can't wait to see how this will end up shaping future us. On a happier note, today marks 1 year since I posted my first ever youtube video!
