Laparoscopic removal of a needle-free in the abdomen
In this video we present a case of a five years of old mixed breed female dog that ate piece of meat full of needles in the park.
The dog was made a radiographic follow-up to monitor the progress of the needles through the digestive tract. All of the needles, except one, were expelled naturally.
Suspecting that the needle thad nas not expelled was localized in the stomach, ne proceeded to the gastroduodenoscopy procedure, this test revealed o us that the needle was no longer in the light of the digestive tract.
Taking advavtage of the negative contrast of the air introduced during the gastroscopy, we performed an x-ray in which we could localize the needle in the abdominal cavity.
We performed an exploratory laparoscopy localizing the needle in the falciform ligament and we extract it with the help of a probe in unich we have incorporated a lithium ion magnet in its distal end. Using one of the two overtubes q the laparoscopy as overtube to remove the needle.
