In part 3 of a pultiple part series I show you how I did my waterfal.
There will be a folow up of how everything works later on.
Remember that I'm not a proffecional, there might be a better way out there.
Things you need to look out for:
The pump capacity needs to be able to lift up the right ammount of water in order to have a good flow. (if needed I will make a video on it, leave a comment if you would like to see that). Not only the higth but the size of tubing aswell as the length needs to be taken in consideration.
Do not make it look like a volcano, use the land you work with, like making a small berm behinde the waterfall and plant it with terestrials. Try to make it look as natural as possible. If you have a sloped terain make it to your advantage.
A waterfall might not provide enough aeration, provide extra aeration with an airpump and stone, certainly in the summer when it gets hot. There is less oxigen in the water in hot periods. It will help the debris to get from the bottom back to the surface and taken in the intakebay.
Use biobals aswell as lava rocks for filter media, the rocks will keep it down in the waterfall / filterfall.
If you have questins leave them in the comment section.
