As part of Central England Co-operative’s two year partnership with Love Food Hate Waste, we presented 'Taste it, Don't Waste it', an event hosted by celebrity chef, Brian Turner, at University College Birmingham.
Key stakeholders attended to watch well-known Birmingham chefs, Luke Tipping, Chef Director of Simpsons, and Aktar Islam, Chef Director of Lasan, compete to create the best dish made from typically leftover ingredients.
Judges Richard Fox (chef and Love Food Hate Waste Ambassador) and Richard McComb (Birmingham restaurant critic and food writer) joined us to talk about food waste and give their verdict on the final, inventive dishes.
The cook-off was followed by a networking event for guests to taste delicious canapés made by UCB students, from typically leftover ingredients.
