WALKTHROUGH

The final boss of the game is going to be a rematch with our old nemesis the Kraken. In my opinion this is the second easiest boss in the game and this walkthrough will be rather short.

The Kraken attacks your fortified position on a roof where you have 1 functioning Railgun. You have tons of other soldiers there helping you fight it which can be either good or bad. The Kraken attacks the same as last time with tentacles. The position I go to in the far left in the video I like the best because it lines up all tentacles in front of you and gives the largest area of the glowing orange spots to hit.

The key here is saving as many of the random soldiers as you can. If too many die, you instantly lose. In this left hand corner, you will occasionally get snatched so just quick tap out then go back to the same spot and keep saving comrades.

Eventually you are told to run up and fire the Railgun at the Kraken. After you do this the Kraken tries to suck you in its mouth. Shoot the glowing orange spots in its mouth and it will stop breathing you in.

Repeat this process one more time and an epic cutscene will play and you have just won Gears 5.

PLOT

Following the events of the previous game, JD, Del, and Marcus are officially reinstated in the COG Army along with Kait, who is given the rank of corporal. Reformed as the new Delta Squad, they travel to the ruins of Azura at Damon Baird's request in order to launch a Hammer of Dawn satellite in an effort to restore the Hammer of Dawn network. After doing this, they return to the COG capital, New Ephyra, but Baird informs them that he still cannot locate the other satellites. First Minister Jinn finds out about the launch and orders them not to restore the network, since it would go against the wishes of the late Anya Stroud, who had decided to permanently decommission the Hammer of Dawn.

Jinn receives word that Settlement 2 is under attack by the Swarm and sends JD's squad to assist the evacuation. Accompanying them in defending the settlement are Augustus Cole, Clayton Carmine, his niece Lizzie, and Fahz Chutani, JD and Del's former squadmate.
