Composed in 1823 by Lowell Mason, this is without any doubt my favorite music box rendition of "Missionary Hymn -- From Greenland's Icy Mountains". It is played on one of our 1905 Mira 18 ½ inch Concert Grand console music boxes. I really enjoy the power and resonance that is demonstrated by the music box with this particular disc. The deep bass notes make my laptop vibrate as this selection plays. I wasn't real confident about posting this video due to the pops that occur in the primitive steel disc during play of the last half of the tune but then I decided to give it a try. I thank you sincerely for stopping in for a visit and hope that you will enjoy this selection as much I do when I play it on the music box.
