In this video you will learn how to replace a rainbird solenoid on a 1” valve
Tools needed:
*gloves
*wire strippers
*grease caps (in case you need to replace the old ones)
Key pointers:
Turn off mainline water to the sprinkler system… water shut off is usually in the front yard for secondary water. Can be in the basement, or side of house if on culinary water.
*don’t forget to turn the water back on after repair
Don’t force the solenoid when twisting it back onto the base of the valve, otherwise you could strip the threads.
Most Rainbird solenoids are the same, but I suggests taking a picture of the existing solenoid/or remove the solenoid and take to your sprinkler supply house for an exact match.
Happy repairs :) Thanks for watching and check back often for more helpful sprinkler repair videos.
