This week on Perspective with Alison Smith: Battling ISIS in Iraq -- the fight to take back Mosul, the grim reality on the ground, and Canada’s role in the conflict.
The commander of Joint Task Force-Iraq says the 68 country US-led coalition fighting ISIS has regained 60 per cent of the territory controlled by the terrorist group in Iraq. Brigadier-General Daniel MacIsaac says Operation Impact -- the Canadian contribution to the Global Coalition to dismantle and defeat ISIS-- is now successfully using surveillance to monitor the actions of the terrorist organization. MacIsaac says successful military actions mean ISIS no longer has the freedom of movement it had in the past.
