HD video footage from the Canon T3i/600D Vs. the Power Shot SX40 HS.
The T3i footage is shot with a 55-250 mm zoom lens to equalize the focal length advantage of the SX40.
Both cameras have full manual controls. The T3i/600D is a DSLR. The SX40 is not.
The SX40 is much cheaper. Both have rotatable LCD screens. The T3i has the inferior DIGIC 4 processor but with superior lens; the SX40 has the newer DIGIC 5 processor.
The SX40 is merely a higher grade "point and shoot" camera. Both feature 1080 HD video.
Both T3i footage and SX40 footage was shot with the same tripod. Files were both rendered to 720 for exact comparison and for file size consideration for YouTube upload consideration.
