The 1.30 Update to Europa Univeralis IV (EU4), slated for a June 9th release date, brings with it a bevy of changes. The goal of this series with my good friend Quagersall will be to touch on and shed light on as much of the new and redone facets of EU4 as possible.
With such a big patch comes a lot of information and it can be overwhelming. Come with us as we review the information provided from the developer diaries as well as the 1.30 European Update mod created on the Steam workshop, and try to draw as complete a picture of what we can expect come release time!
To name a few of the changes, major overhauls to the map of Germany, France, Italy, Carpathia, and the Balkans, a complete overhaul of the Holy Roman Empire (HRE) reform mechanics, an overhaul of the estates mechanics, an overhaul of the Catholic faith as well as Papal mechanics, a completely gutted and redone mercenary mechanic, the introduction of Imperial Incidents, and countless quality of life improvements.
