At the time of this video I didn’t understand why the one I ordered did not seem like a direct fit. I now know why my BMW E46 M3 is not a direct fit I hope this helps others but for whatever reason my 2004 M3 did not appear to have the same OEM “salmon “ colored relay for the SMG pump. Mine is black and 4 metal prongs instead of the Salmon colored 5 metal prong one. It’s a small thing but super confusing to me personally. Spent all day trying to understand if mine was an aftermarket retro fit or what? Whats even weirder is that my relay is used in e46 325 & 330 for all years but was not listed as fitment for the M3 until 2008… so why does mine seem to be the same one but for other models.. weird.
My black relay I’ve ordered that is a direct fit and replacement has the part number 61366901469

BMW was not able to pull it up but it’s definitely the right relay for my relay box. Might not work for the light popping up but hope this helps someone else with a similar situation where the salmon relay doesn’t look like the typical one.
