"The Wait" is from the album "That Spell", buy/stream here: [ Ссылка ]
The words of this song come from a poem written by Ranier Maria Rilke. I did no retelling or borrowing from the text because the entire poem was written to be sung. When I first read this last spring it was obvious that this fit into the time we were all living through. Ideas of having too much and too little at once seemed to describe lockdown perfectly. Or life feeling like it was moving in slow motion and even the title “the wait” was what we all had to do.

Lyrics:
(by Andrea von Kampen)
It is life in slow motion,
it's the heart in reverse,
it's a hope-and-a-half:
too much and too little at once.
It's a train that suddenly
stops with no station around,
and we can hear the cricket,
and, leaning out the carriage
door, we vainly contemplate
a wind we feel that stirs
the blooming meadows, the meadows
made imaginary by this stop.
