The United Nations is taking a wait and see approach after the announcement of an election date by Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe.
The date of July 31st has been rejected by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
He indicated that he would not allow the country to be rushed into another illegitimate election. In an exchange with the SABC's Sherwin Bryce-Pease at the U.N. , the U.N. spokesperson, clarified their position regarding the upcoming poll.
