Thousands of supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro stormed key government buildings in the capital city of Brasilia.
Bolsonaro narrowly lost last year's presidential election to Lula da Silva, but supporters of the far-right politician refused to accept his defeat.
In scenes reminiscent of the Capitol Hill riots in the United States after the electoral defeat of Donald Trump, protesters took to the streets and vandalised public property. Brazilian police used tear gas to repel Bolsonaro's supporters.
The riots happened just a week after President Lula's inauguration.
