Here is what I consider to be the main problem with the new line of miter saws from Makita. I am working on producing a fix, but as of right now Makita knows about the problem, and hasn't expressed an interest in fixing it.

That being said, I still really like the saw. With a better detent plate I feel that this is an excellent choice for an all-around miter saw.
