Bhetki Paturi
🐟 Sharing a traditional Bengali fish recipe today. Made bhetki paturi for pre holi celebration. Went to the fish market to get bhetki mach for this, and I just had to keep the clip of fileting, cause to me it is a work of art.
🌸Clean & wash thoroughly 6 medium sized bhetki fillet. Marinate with some salt & lemon juice. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
🌸In a bowl add 3 tbsp mustard paste (black and white mustard mixed ana 2 green chili), 1 tbsp of char magaz (dried melon seeds) paste, 2 tbsp of yogurt, 2 tbsp of grated coconut, salt as per taste, pinch of turmeric powder & 3 tbsp of mustard oil. mix everything very well.
🌸Add marinated fish pieces. Coat well with masala & keep aside for 15 minutes.
🌸Wash banana leaves and lightly roast on hot tawa. Do not skip this process.
🌸Now place a fish piece and some masala mix on a banana leaf. Place a green chili on top of the fish and wrap it gently as shown in the video. Tie with a thread.
🌸Add 1 tsp of mustard oil and grease the pan. Add wrapped fishes and cover with a lid. Cook on low to medium flame for 15 minutes.
🌸Open the lid & flip the fishes. Cook on low to medium flame for 15 minutes.
🌸Switch of the gas. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
🌸Serve with steamed rice.
