Integrating wheelchair tennis into the Upper Austria Ladies Linz tournament program - a long-held wish for tournament director Sandra Reichel, which she made a reality in November 2021! The premiere was a great success with "standing ovations" from tennis fans, who can now look forward to a new edition: On Saturday, February 11, 2023, Austria's best players Christina Pesendorfer from Bad Ischl and Vanessa Jenewein from Innsbruck will again show their skills. They will play a show match at the Linz Design Center at around 3:30 p.m. (after the 2nd singles semifinals and before the doubles semifinals), and a mixed doubles with WTA players is also planned - as in 2021.
"For me, it's really about showing tennis in all its breadth. It's not for nothing that our new Ladies. In Business & Sports initiative also includes the topic of inclusion. Thus, the most important women's sporting event in Austria is enriched by an important program item," tournament director Sandra Reichel is pleased. Austria's best wheelchair tennis player, Nico Langmann, will also be a guest again in Linz; he will also present his book ("How to Give Up a Dream to Win a Life").
