GoPro Hero 11, Insta360 One RS 4K, DJI Osmo Action 3 - Image Quality Test
Looking to improve on the GoPro 11, if possible.
MICROPHONES AND EXTERNAL POWER
This wireless microphone did work for voice, and allowed an external battery to power the camera, but when tested on the bike, it did not work well; it didn't pick up much good background sound, and the sound it picked was too distorted for me to want to use it, so I am still experimenting with sound.

Wireless Lavalier Microphone for Type-C Port
USB C Wired Microphone
This lavalier microphone works with the DJI Osmo Action 3, but I haven't found a way to use external power at the same time.

I ordered a USB Type C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter; it will run EITHER the Mic OR the power, not both; I've ordered two more different ones to try, and they both did the same thing.
FILE SIZES and BIT RATE
Thanks to a comment about bitrate from "Team Junk Yard Dog", here is a look at file size differences between GP and DJI that I mentioned but didn't look closer at until now.
The DJI Action 3 "max bit rate" is 130, but it apparently varies with video type, and I haven't found more detailed information.
My DJI HDR 4K/30 videos are producing file sizes that compute as 90-95 bitrate, both with a calculator and the Windows/Properties/Details. The Standard Enhanced 4K/30 Videos run from 80-90 bit, based on file size. The HDR video would require more computing power, so they may well have to lower the bit rate. I didn't try Standard video with Enhanced turned off.
The GoPro 11 was set to standard bit rate, which is apparently either 45 or 60 at 4K/30fps, which is pretty low, but produces acceptable video until YouTube mangles it, though I process it (together with the other cameras, at 100, recently changed to 120 bit).
Using file sizes and the Windows/Properties/Details figures (which are close to the calculations), some of the "standard rate" GoPro 11 videos were 45 bit and some 60. GoPro bitrates range from 45/60/100/120 depending on video type.
I've changed the GoPro 11 to high bit rate/120, there isn't anything in between. These file sizes calculate as 120 - 135 bitrate for the Gopro in 4K/30fps on a couple of tests. That's going to be big for 2-3 hours of video even with a 128 GB card (and I have two other cameras running); I may go back to standard bitrate.
Here's one calculator to estimate file sizes, which is pretty interesting.

Video detail and compression will affect final file size, though comparing the same scenes reduces the effects of video details, but this was interesting to look at anyway.
