The culture of Medieval European chivalry, as preserved for us in Arthurian literature, is as distinctly heroic and European as the culture of the Greeks and the Vikings. And I believe that the corpus of Arthurian literature is as much an essential part of the Western, heroic canon as Homer and the Norse Sagas.
