[COVID-19: Word from the Mayor of Gaspé - May 6, 2020]
For this 27th message, the Mayor of Gaspé summarises the economic recovery plan of the Union of Quebec Municipalities. This plan will have to be carried out in consultation with the three levels of government in order to maximise the economic benefits for our regions: public transport and regional transport, infrastructure, decentralisation of public service jobs, a real strategy to promote local purchasing and our small businesses are all axes on which the UMQ relies.
Next, we remind you that the emergency food line set up by the MRC is still available. Few people use it, but the service is there for you, confidentially and without any embarrassment: 418-368-4884 on weekday afternoons.
The Mayor also informs you about the upcoming decisions expected from Public Health for our tourism industry, sports practice and our entire cultural industry. Many discussions with several cabinets and ministers have taken place and more are to come.
We have to keep following the instructions and we're going to be fine.
