Late spring in my four year old food forest and vegetable garden. This area of my property was dense forest when I started clearing it for food production in 2020. I used logs, branches and leaves from the trees I cut down to create wood chips, compost and hugelkultur beds and then planted fruit trees, berry bushes and annual vegetables. This year, I'll be harvesting fruit from the trees for the first time and the berry bushes will provide bountiful harvests like they have for the past two years.
