Former Army medic Lisa Haney, who served as a combat medic for 13 years, discovered she had a heart condition during a mandatory EKG and eventually required a heart transplant. After receiving her new heart in August 2023, Haney is now advocating for organ donation, highlighting the challenges of organ availability and urging people to consider becoming donors. Through her recovery at Henry Ford Health, Haney's mission is to spread awareness about organ donation across Metro Detroit.
