About the 69th Street Diner and French Tom:

*About the diner*
“The pie here will warm anyone's cold heart. Stop in for classic diner fare as you wonder why it's on Bart Street.” - GTA IV Manual Description

The 69th Street Diner is a restaurant located at the intersection of Bart Street and Mohawk Avenue in Hove Beach, Broker.

Niko Bellic can replenish his health by buying a burger for $1. Niko, Johnny and Luis can take their friends or girlfriends to the diner for a meal.

From the outside, The 69th Street Diner has a somewhat worn down 1950s style appearance. Inside, there are several booths and stools which maintain the style. Several members of the Russian Mafia can be found inside and outside.

There are two entrances to the diner, a side entrance and a front entrance, which faces Mohawk Ave and it is a standard design for majority of the retro diners with sterling streamliner design.

Despite the building's age and worn décor, it appears to be fairly popular.

It is featured in the mission 'Out of the Closet,' where Brucie asks Niko to kill Tom Rivas (French Tom).

*About French Tom*
Tom Rivas, aka French Tom, is Lyle Rivas's cousin and is a minor character in GTA IV.

He was born in Puerto Rico in 1982. He has two cousins, Lyle and Victor. At an unknown point in time, Rivas moved to Liberty City, and came out as gay. His nickname is "French Tom", which he uses as his username for his Love-Meet.net account .

By 2008, Rivas was in debt to Brucie Kibbutz. When Kibbutz tried to retrieve his money, Rivas went into hiding.

About the game:

Grand Theft Auto IV (also known as GTA IV or GTA 4, released 2008) is the eleventh title in the Grand Theft Auto series. The game was developed by Rockstar North and was published and released by Rockstar Games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were released worldwide to widespread hype on April 29, 2008. The PC version was released on December 3, 2008.

Grand Theft Auto IV is heavily influenced by Russian gangster movies, and Niko Bellic's physical appereance is based on the character of Sasha, a Bulgarian sniper who works as a mercenary for the Bosnian-Serb Srpska paramilitary organization, from the movie Behind Enemy Lines.

Set within the fictional Liberty City, based on New York City, the single-player story follows Eastern European war veteran Niko Bellic and his attempts to escape his past while under pressure from loan sharks and mob bosses.
