Just a quick video of me Harvesting my first Kyoto Red Carrot! This was my first time trying to grow carrots myself and in a container and I'm quite happy with the result. These carrots are cold hardy and best sewn in the Fall for a Winter/Spring harvest, and that is what I did.

I used fresh miracle-grow soil, as light and fluffy as I could keep it. If I remember correctly these were pelleted seeds which made planting and germination so simple. Until they sprouted I watered with the light mist setting on my hose and covered the soil with a sheet of cheap aluminum foil held in place by a small rock on top, this helped keep the soil at the correct moisture level that carrots need to germinate. Once I saw most of the seeds had sprouted I removed the foil and watered normally. And once it was snowing I didn't have to water anymore.

I'm really happy with how these carrots turned out. They're a good size, they look nice, and they taste great!
