This Memorial Day, we drove on the World’s Most Dangerous Road claimed by BBC, which runs 414 miles long. It was built as a supply road to support the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline System in 1974, by a lifelong Alaskan and an engineer James Dalton. You can see the pipeline along the Dalton highway as shown in the video.
As shown in the video, it does get tricky to drive on the dalton highway, as the roads are not paved throughout and the loose gravel and mud makes the car skid from time to time. So be very careful driving this infamous highway; especially in the winter season (September-March).
We stopped at Yukon River Camp, which is the only stop and gas station between Elliott highway (route before start of Dalton highway) and Coldfoot.
Driving on the Dalton Highway requires a special rental car rented out by local businesses. We rented from @ArcticOutfitters and it was a great experience. The cars come equipped with a CB radio, which is pretty much the only way to communicate on the Dalton highway in case of emergency or tire/car issues. The cars also come with a tool box, stepney, an extra full sized tire and a doughnut.

Arctic circle and entering the Arctic region was a dream for the both of us. It felt surreal to step into the region we have only read of in our text books.
Onto the next day …
