The CAT4 is a cognitive abilities test that is used to recognize students’ academic levels and needs, as well as an entrance exam for many luxurious schools. It is the most widely used reasoning ability assessment in the UK and is administered also in Ireland and many international schools worldwide.

The CAT4 test consists of four batteries, each containing two sections:
1. Verbal Reasoning Battery: contains Verbal Classification and Verbal Analogies sections.
2. Quantitative Reasoning Battery: contains Number Analogies and Number Series sections.
3. Non-Verbal Reasoning Battery: contains Figure Classification and Figure Matrices sections.
4. Spatial Ability Battery: contains Figure Analysis and Figure Recognition sections.
