Have you ever heard something like “don’t weave with single-ply warp”? What about “you can’t weave with knitting yarn”? Or one of my favorites, “you can’t warp handspun yarn”?
I firmly believe there's no such thing as BAD yarn - but there is yarn that doesn't make good warp.
Instead of teaching people that whole categories aren't good for warp yarns, I like to teach people what does make a good warp yarn, so you can choose yarns that work for you.
Most of this video is going to focus on warp yarns, because you can use almost anything you want for weft.
But warps are a different matter, so in his video, I’ll show you everything you need to know about selecting warp yarns, including how to get away with some of those quote-unquote “bad yarns.”
