D’Best Recreation Fishing Pond is Singapore’s largest salt water fishing park located next to Pasir Ris Central, within the vicinity of Pasir Ris Town Park. Clad within a "kampong" thematic setting to give a rustic village feel to the location, this fishing park is well stocked with fish and operates round the clock with its own F&B outlet, mini-mart and tackle shop to support every need of the angler and non-angling visitor. To cater for as many angling preferences as possible, D’Best is segmented into several ponds with varying ticket prices and hourly rates to suit the pockets of very angler.
Species to look out for:
Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Finger Mark Snapper, Threadfin, Giant Trevally, Cobia, Groupers and Golden Promfrets.
D’Best is segmented into several ponds to cater for different fishing styles:
D’Best Main Pond: Arguably the largest pay pond in Singapore, this part of the fishing park is a famous place for families to hang out during the weekends. A session from 7am-3pm cost SGD49. Fish caught here can be brought home. If you are a beginner and intend to catch a fish on lure, the main pond’s kampong area is a great place to begin! Simply cast out and drag the rubber at the bottom with a slow retrieve. The colours that are often used by the regulars are green or white. Spoons on a straight retrieve works too. Baiting is allowed for the pond and most of the regulars use a floater rig with a peeled prawn or horse mackerel flesh..
D’Best Pro Pond:
The pro pond is a lot smaller than the main pond but is well stocked and concentrated with fish, giving the angler a better chance of landing them like the pros. They charge SGD$60 for 3 hours. Rubbers and hard body lures work in the pond but 2.8” rubbers would be the recommended size as the fishes could be rather fussy at times. The pond is stocked with the same species as the main pond but occasionally has huge barramundi stocked inside as large as 9 to 12kg. Baiting can be done here but fish meat is not allowed for in this pond. Fish caught can be brought home.
D’Best Kelong Fishing Pond:
This pond is a challenge you will want to take up if you love finesse! The pond is located in the main pond but is separated by nets. D’Best stock the pond mainly with mangrove jacks, Giant trevallies and groupers. What drive anglers crazy with this pond is its requirement that you mut use the tackle set up that is provided, which is a tiny rod and reel loaded with 6lb line. The pond is densely stocked with fish and filled with structures to increase the difficulty of landing any of the fish. The pond charges SGD40 for a two hour session.
D’Boat Fishing: This is a small area of the main pond that is stocked with cobia, grouper, finger mark snapper and many other saltwater fish. The pond charges SGD$50 an hour for weekdays and SGD$60 an hour for weekends. Any fish above 3kg can be bagged and taken home, but here’s the catch…, you can only use a maximum of 10lb test line, which adds to the challenge and excitement.
How to get here:
D’Best is easily accessible by public transport. If you are trying to reach the pond by:
