Multiple-time Brazilian Jiu-jitsu World & ADCC Champion Andre Galvao – head coach of Team Atos, has put together this instructional course online so you can easily deal with the mount position. This series specifically covers DEFENSIVE strategies from the mount position so that you can develop a better understanding of fundamental jiu-jitsu ESCAPES!

This course was designed for those who have no or little experience with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (white to purple belts), this is a “beginner to fundamental-level” course.

You will learn the basic path towards the mount escape positions from the bottom. In addition to this, you will learn transitions between such positions the UPA escape to the elbow escape, and fundamental controlling techniques.

After this course, you are now prepared to drive into more advanced techniques, drills, transitional changes, and submission series. You now have a solid basic understanding of what the mount position in jiu-jitsu is and can perform many of its fundamentals escapes.

"Andre Galvao is one of the greatest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes of all time, with 6 IBJJF World Championship titles, 10 IBJJF Pan American Championships, and 6 ADCC World Championship titles (4x as the ADCC Super Fight Champion). He received his black belt from Luis “Careca” Dagmar, having also worked extensively with Fernando Terere. Galvão is also a former mixed martial artist, with an MMA record of 5-2-0 before he retired to lead the Atos Jiu-Jitsu Academy's Headquarters in San Diego, California.
