Leopards are known as "super cats" because they are apex predators, some consider them the most skilled stalking cats, and they are able to live in many habitat types. Some refer to these big cats as the "jackals" of the big cat world. Leopards come with spots, even black leopards, which gives them camouflage. This camouflage helps both with hiding from prey and hiding from predators. Believe it or not, leopards aren't that big, and they can be taken down by lions, tigers, and african wild dogs - oh my! To avoid predators and annoying scavengers, leopards spent a lot of their time in trees.
