STORYLINE:
Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint just outside the West Bank town of Hebron have fired at a bus carrying 74 Palestinians returning home from an engagement party in Bethlehem.
The driver and two passengers, one of them a 12-year-old boy, were lightly injured.
Israel decided on Sunday to draw tanks back from Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's compound but continue restricting him to the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The measure led angry Palestinians to cancel planned cease-fire talks with Israeli security officials.
