I love Passion Fruit Jam! It is tart and has a Unique Flavor of its own, I can't really compare it to anything. The seeds give it a little crispy texture that is not annoying at all. They look like watermelon seeds but they are light and crisp, not chewy or hard like watermelon seeds.
If you are lucky to have a bunch of local passion fruit like me, this jam is a must! We also make a refreshing Passion Fruit Lemonade and/or Cocktails with the fresh Passion Fruit Pulp. Other wise Jam or freezing the Pulp is the best way to preserve it. The jam is also great on a Charcuterie platter, topped over yogurt, desserts, ice cream or even crackers!
Using the Flesh of the Passion fruit Shell tones down the tartness of the jam and also helps stretch out the jam to a lot more product and even thickens it naturally without Pectin. However if you use too many of the Shells your jam can become bitter or bland. So stick to only using 1/3 to 1/2 of the Passion Fruit Fleshy Part for your jam.
