(4 Mar 2021) Mourners gathered in the Myanmar city of Mandalay on Thursday for the funeral of Kyal Sin, a 20-year old university student who was shot in the head during an anti-coup protest the previous day.
Vehicles decorated with flowers and pictures of Kyal Sin were greeted by a huge crowd making three-fingered salutes, an emblem of the pro-democracy movement.
She was one of an estimated 38 protesters killed in Myanmar on Wednesday in what a United Nations official said had been Myanmar's bloodiest day since the military takeover a month ago.
