Two Hundred and twenty two foreign nationals have been apprehended in connection with various offences in Lusaka.

The clean up operation was conducted by the Department of Immigration in conjunction with the Zambia Police, Drug Enforcement Commission among other security wings.

Among those apprehended include Burundians, Rwandanese, Tanzanians , Chinese, Zimbabweans, Congolese , Americans and Zambians.

Immigration Spokesperson NAMATI NSHIKA says after preliminary investigations 119 have been detained awaiting prosecution , while 54 are pending questioning and 44 have since been released.

Mr NSHINKA has named the areas visited as Makeni, Comesa Market, Nyumba Yanga, Mtendere East and Kalingalinga , Mean-wood Ndeke among others.
