This year's 79-foot, 12-ton Norway Spruce was donated by a family in Maryland. This marks the first time the tree has ever come from that state.

Once the tree gets to New York, it'll be decorated with nearly 50,000 lights, using about five miles of wire. And of course, it'll be topped with a Swarovski crystal star.
