The movie begins in the US, where Nisha is invited to a Nepalese music festival. She recalls her friends Aalap and Sargam, who were in love. Their musical group is offered a gig, but Aalap needs a saxophone. Sargam and her friend Keshar plan to gift him one, despite Sargam's father's disapproval. Nisha, however, beats Sargam to it, leaving her heartbroken.
